Designing a Digital Experience for One of the World’s Most Innovative 3D Concrete Printing Companies

The Challenge
Pikus’ work is bold, artistic, and technically advanced.
Their website wasn’t.
While the existing site had served the business well, it no longer reflected the innovation, craftsmanship, or premium nature of the brand. It lacked the visual impact expected by design-conscious architects and didn’t fully communicate the creative possibilities of 3D concrete printing.
The objective wasn’t simply to modernize the website, it was to create a digital experience that felt as considered and innovative as the projects Pikus delivers.

Our Approach
From the outset, we knew this couldn’t feel like another construction website.
The audience isn’t searching for commodity products, they’re architects looking for inspiration, developers exploring new possibilities, and designers seeking a partner capable of bringing ambitious ideas to life.
Every design decision was made to reflect that audience.
The experience needed to be clean, minimal, confident, and visually driven, allowing the work itself to take center stage while reinforcing Pikus’ reputation as an industry innovator.

Designing Around the Work

We designed the website to celebrate the sculptural quality of Pikus’ work through bold imagery, generous white space, refined typography, and subtle interactions.
One of the site’s signature design features is the treatment of project photography.
Images initially appear in black and white before transitioning into full colour on hover, creating an elegant moment of discovery that mirrors the relationship between architecture and art. The effect is visually striking while encouraging visitors to engage more deeply with the content themselves.
Throughout the website, carefully considered animations and interactions help create a premium digital experience without distracting from the work.
Building a Foundation for Growth
While the launch website showcases galleries of completed projects, it has been designed to continually evolve.
As Pikus delivers increasingly ambitious commissions, new projects and case studies will be added to expand the portfolio and demonstrate the breadth of possibilities made possible through 3D concrete printing.

The website has been built around a flexible content management system, allowing the team to grow their library of projects while maintaining a consistent, high-end presentation.
Over time, the portfolio will become one of the company’s strongest marketing assets, demonstrating not just what Pikus builds, but what’s possible when design and advanced manufacturing come together.
Looking Ahead: Bolides Ecommerce
The project also extends beyond the corporate website.
As part of Pikus’ broader digital strategy, we’re developing an ecommerce experience for Bolides – a collection of contemporary 3D-printed concrete seating designed for architects, landscape architects, developers, municipalities, and commercial property owners.
Unlike Pikus’ bespoke architectural work, Bolides offers beautifully designed, repeatable products available in multiple sizes and finishes.
Rather than presenting these as standard ecommerce products, the experience will focus on inspiration first.
Visitors will be able to explore applications, compare finishes and dimensions, understand installation options, and discover why Bolides offers a compelling alternative to traditional precast benches, tables, and site furnishings before seamlessly moving into the purchasing experience.
The goal is to create an online buying journey that feels every bit as premium as the products themselves.

The new Pikus website is more than an updated digital presence.
It reflects the company’s position at the forefront of architectural innovation while providing a scalable platform that will continue growing alongside the business.
