“I did so badly! I wasn’t even eligible for Final Jeopardy because I was below $0-negative $1,000 to be exact.” While the other contestants continued on, he was asked to step aside with the producers. Even then, he stayed curious and engaged. “The producers gave me a piece of paper to write a response on,” he recalls. He got the Final Jeopardy question right.

Alex Trebek called him up to show his correct response on camera-proof that he really did know the answer after all.
